Mission Projects

Current Project: We are collecting for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.   Individual shoeboxes are due Nov. 17.  To donate items for the packing party, please have these by Nov 1.

Around the 20th of each month, we collect items to take to the Daily Bread.  Current requests include breakfast items – granola bars, nutrigrain bars, bananas, oranges, muffins (can be homemade), cereals, oatmeal packets. 

September – Collected 67 items for Human Kind’s Little Wings Early Learning Center

August – Collected 76 personal hygiene items for Autumn Care residents.

July – Collected 203 items for the Social Service Back to School Program.  We also collected 24 units of blood at our July Blood Drive.

June – Collected 103 items for troop care packages through the Red Cross.

May – Collected 113 dinner bags for children to take home from Lynchburg Daily Bread.  We donated 45 items for the USPS Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

April – We collected 89 food and personal care items for the Salvation Army.

March- We collected 54 items for the Lynchburg Daily Bread.

February – We hosted a Red Cross Blood Drive and collected 31 units of blood.  We collected 78 stuffed animals for Gleaning for the World’s Teddy Bear Brigade.

January – We hosted a Rise Against Hunger meal packing event and packed 12,096 meals thanks to around 50 volunteers!  We also collected 183 items for HumanKind’s Ways to Work Food Pantry

November – Packed 20 Thanksgiving food boxes for Campbell County Social Services
October – Packed 123 shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.
September – Collected 36 items for the Sadler House in Lynchburg
August – Collected 111 dinner bags for children to take home from Lynchburg Daily Bread
July – Collected 208 items for Campbell County Social Services Back to School Program
June – Collected 156 items for the Free Clinic
May – Collected 74 items for the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center
April – Collected 110 items for Miriam’s House and took a meal to share with 7 of their residents and staff
March – Collected 59 individual snack items plus 114 other items for the veterans at the VA Hospital in Salem and the VA Clinic in Lynchburg
February – Collected 67 stuffed animals for Gleaning for the World’s Teddy Bear Brigade
January – Collected 180 items for HumanKind’s Ways to Work Food Pantry
